Welcome to the HBBE
March 25, 2020

The HBBE Team would like to reach out to colleagues, friends and collaborators all round the world at this challenging time. Our thoughts are with everyone, especially to those who are ill.

Like every aspect of society in many countries the HBBE has been affected by Covid-19. Most of the team are now working remotely and many of our projects are on hold. However, we continue to meet regularly and share our research and ideas so that, when we return our group will be ready to hit the ground running on our ground-breaking research agenda.

Covid 19 reminds us of the intimate relationship between our microbial and built environments. It feels like our research is more important than ever. We have already donated equipment and a number of our team have volunteered to work in the lab to support the testing effort. We will be spending the next few weeks and months thinking about how our unique team can come together in response to the challenges this crisis raises and to create healthy and resilient environments.
