Special Interest Groups

In addition to our four core Themes (Building Metabolism, Living Construction, Microbial Environments, Responsible Interaction, Living Textiles) there are a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) established within the HBBE. SIGs provide a platform to develop a common ground for exchange and collaboration, working across more than one theme and represent emerging areas of interest within the HBBE.

Special Interest Group: Mycology For Architecture

Mycology For Architecture (MycoTecture) is an international collaboration for designers working with fungi as a biomaterial.

Special Interest Group: Bio-Futures for Transplanetary Habitats

Bio-Futures for Transplanetary Habitats (BFfTH) is a Special Interest Group that aims to explore and enable interdisciplinary research on transplanetary habitats and habitats within extreme environments through an emphasis on the bio-social and biotechnological relations.
