We are now seeking to appoint a highly committed, motivated and creative scientist to join the research team under ‘Living Fabrication’ theme. The research aim of this theme is to develop a new generation of bulk, engineered living materials (ELMs), which are intelligently synthesised and/or activated using microbial process. This project is to create a microbial based ELMs library for building construction. The post is a fixed term for 36 months. The successful candidate will work closely with architects, material scientists and civil engineers.
You should hold, or being close to completion of, PhD in microbiology, molecular biology, biochemistry or related subject. You have to be able to work independently and as a team member, and also present multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and organization skills are essential.
