Matt Rogan
PhD Candidate
Matt is a PhD candidate at Northumbria University in the School of Health and life Sciences. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Cellular and Molecular) and a Master of Research in Biotechnology and Biodesign from Newcastle University. His interests lie in using synthetic biology techniques for building microbial cell factories to produce high valued products.
His PhD is based within the Building Metabolism, where he will be using synthetic biology to characterise a library of basic DNA parts (promoters, ribosome binding sites, signal peptides and terminators) that can be used to engineer the industrially relevant genus Geobacillus.
