HBBE launches a new research theme: Responsible Interactions

A fourth research theme: Responsible Interactions, led by Ben Bridgens and Ruth Morrow has been added to the HBBE over the summer.

The interactions of concern are the interactions between new and existing materials and technologies; between technologies and people; and between the interdisciplinary HBBE team and our external collaborators. The term ‘responsible’ marks our commitment to an ethical, reflective and inclusive approach to the emerging technologies and cultures of HBBE.

The Responsible Interactions theme will collaborate with the other research themes: Living Construction, Building Metabolism, and Microbial Environments to scale up emerging technologies through a series of social, technical and ecological prototypes, to be developed within the OME, demonstrating the potential of a new generation of Living Buildings.

For further information or if you wish to collaborate with us contact the theme’s co-leads: Ruth Morrow and Ben Bridgens.
