Emily is a current PhD candidate at Newcastle University in the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape, where she is investigating the potential for application of biological hygromorphs in the built environment.
She earnt a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from Newcastle University and her dissertation explored the fundamental concepts of bacterial hygromorphs as active biomaterials through a project called Active Origami.
