Mud Futures 2021-2022 is a global year-long multi-host multi-location conclave on the futures of mud in architecture conceptualised and conducted by the School of Art and Architecture, Sushant University. The conclave is an opportunity for a global platform for ideas, thoughts, research and architectural projects centred around mud. Here, mud is considered as a material, as an approach, as a vehicle for sustainability, and as the source of an ideological imperative for the future of the built environment. The Hub for Biotechnology is happy to contribute as one of co-hosts to deliberate once a month for until April 2022 on the futures of our profession through the lens of MUD.

How will mud survive in the future – is it a lone journey for this primordial material or has it the capacity to overlap, intersect, coalesce or consolidate with alternative materiality and processes? Will such an overlap help in creating symbiosis and a new consciousness in the built environment? How mud meets other materials, organisms, processes, techniques, rhythms, thereby opening up the door to responsible ecologies? Come discover these and many more fusions at the cutting edge of research and practice. Learn from leading thinkers and innovators bringing ideas from Europe, NorthAmerica, Africa and Asia.
