Bruna Martins Dell' Agnese
Research Assistant
Fibre Highways: translocation of the microbiome for pollutant bioremediation.
Bruna is a biologist with interest in applied microbiology and microbial ecology. She concluded her phD in Genetics and Molecular Biology programme at University of Campinas (Brazil). She has worked with biosurfactants prospection, hydrocarbon degradation and microbial immobilization focusing on bioremediation of oil contaminated seawater in different scales (micro and mesocosm) with collaboration of the Institute of Biological Resources and Marine Biotechnology (IRBIM – CNR) in Italy. She held a postdoc position in Uruguay (Clemente Estable Institute) within a broad project (METHABASE\ERANET-LAC) to investigate methanogenic archaeal communities under climatic change scenario in polar environments (Alaska, USA). Currently she is working at HBBE at Northumbria University on Fibre Highways, an innovative interdisciplinary project developed by Dr. Angela Sherry and Dr. Jane Scott involving microbiology and textile design to develop an efficient tool for bioremediation purposes.
