The vibrant culture in Newcastle inspired us to revive the memory of a once popular nightclub and turn it into a multipurpose cultural venue. This entertainment space was abandoned 10 years ago and has been standing dormant ever since.

Now let us show you how the properties of mycelium will bring the place back to life.

By combining on site construction debris with mycelium we can biocycle the original materials to restore some of the former brickwork and support the building.
We would further need to refurbish the integral parts of the building as well as the interiors using innovative mycelium technologies.

Mycelium panels, support structures, tiles, flooring, and furniture.
Covering the walls and the roof with mycelium panels would make them water and fire resistant. Mycelium panels also provide the building with sound and thermal insulation. To further improve the structural integrity, we could use self-supporting tree-like fungi structures. We can benefit from its shock absorbent and durable nature to cover the flooring and walls with mycelium tiles. With the building revived, we leave it up to the community to put the finishing touches and turn it into what they desire. A music venue, a gallery, a social space or perhaps a library.

Meanwhile, visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase commercially grown mushrooms to help maintain the farm and experience food production.
